The ref…the players…the game…
Football West launched the RESPECT campaign in 2010 and all teams have been given a resource kit designed to reinforce the message. It is all about removing unacceptable behavior from the game and bringing the fun and enjoyment back, for all players, supporters, coaches and officials.
The resource kit included information about the program and a Code of Conduct Poster, with the aim that all players in a team would read and understand the code and sign their name on the poster. This would indicate that the players agree with the obligations of their responsibilities towards the team, the rules, the opposition, the referee, the coach and the club.
The resource kit also included a captain’s armband, displaying the RESPECT logo and some RESPECT competition cards. Each player should have received one of the trading cards they have a competition number on each. The winning number for June was 3689, so if that is the number on your card you should contact Football West to claim the monthly prize.
As a club we support the RESPECT program and encourage all members to make it their obligation to understand what it is about and to embrace its code of conduct.
